Researchers from University of Pennsylvania suggest that children who eat fish frequently have higher IQs and sleep better
Analyzing the fish consumption, sleeping habits and IQ test scores of 541 Chinese schoolchildren the researchers found that children who “always” or “sometimes” consumed fish had fewer sleep problems and higher IQ scores compared to the children who rarely ate fish. The researchers argue that the higher IQ score of children eating fish can be partially explained by the better sleep quality. The key nutrients in fish causing better sleep and higher IQ are believed to be the omega-3 fatty acids.
